            A week in Tuscany on the routes of wine

1nd day

arrival and accomodation

dinner at “Al Parco” restaurant or in the Country- Farm “Noce Torta” made up of the earth fruit of our estate night

2nd day

breakfast buffet “Noce Torta”, dessert made up with fresh eggs of our hens, home made cake and jam, country    producted salted pork meats, fresh fruit of the season

leaving for the famous area of Chianti Classico, territory contended from the two cities  Siena and Firenze, extended through  70.000 hectars and distinguished since 1924 by the historical mark “Gallo Nero” (Black Cock)

arrival at Greve in Chianti, to discover how the famous wine is produced: visit to the Wine Cellars inaugurated in September 2000 to promote the “Chianti Classico” type of wine. There will be possible to tast all the products of the main farms in the Chianti area. 

lunch “bistrot” to find the natural flavours like original Chianina meat and the salted pork meat of the area of Siena 

 walk through the little medieval streets in Greve in Chianti and visit to the Abbay in Passignano  placed in the road that originally linked the Val d’Elsa to the Valdarno zone and where the holy order of Vallombrosani has been seat since 1000 a.C.

3rd day

breakfast buffet leaving for Montepulciano, to discover the beautiful medieval town and its delicious “Nobile” wine in an ancient local wine 

lunch at “Al Parco”restaurant  or at the Country-farm   “Noce Torta”

free afternoon: our staff will give you information about excursion in the Naturalistic, Artistic and Cultural Park of Val d’Orcia ( Pienza, a lovely town of Renaissance, Bagni Vignoni and its thermal treatments, Castiglione d’Orcia, Radicofani , San Quirico d’Orcia, Monticchiello), looking at the medieval districts mostly placed over highhills from wich you can enjoi suggestive panoramas over the valley and Amiata Mountain

4th day

breakfast buffet

leaving for Montalcino on the Brunello route, visit to the medieval castle and to the wine shop at the insight, free wine tasting

visit to the Banfi farm placed on the south side of Montalcino in the suggestive scenary of wineyard, specialized in high quality wine products. This farm nowdays is a point of reference in the market wine production, offers the possibility to visit its old wine cellars, glass museum, tasting of various tipe of wine, to lunch combining 5 different kind of Brunello with as many tipical dishes of the traditional tuscany cooking

 free lunch in Montalcino or, if requested, lunch prepared with the products of our estate “Noce Torta”

in the afternoon it is possible an excursion to the near Castelnuovo dell’Abate where it is placed the beautiful Sant’Antimo Abbey wich is one of the richest and powerful in Tuscany, testimony of one the most important monastic romanesque architecture

5th day

breakfast buffet

free morning; our staff will give you information about neighbouring towns to visit like Cetona, lovely medieval village wich has ancient origins you can have a look at in the beautiful prehistoric Museum and in the Belverde grottoes; or like San Casciano dei Bagni mostly known at the moment as a Spa, but it is a suggestive medieval village as well

return and lunch at “Al Parco” restaurant or at the Country-farm “Noce Torta”

free afternoon with possibility of visit to the Trasimeno Lake and the neighbouring villages like Panicale and Castiglione del Lago

6th day

breakfast buffet

leaving again for the Chianti area to visit its castles, according to one of the six tours organized from the Municipal Administration of Gaiole in Chianti. 
Between them historically and architecturally important the one of Brolio, of Meleto and of Badia a Coltibuono. It was refuge and residence of Bettino Ricasoli, statesman and excellent expert of agricolture. In fact he worked at the exact composition of the Chianti wine in its percentage of grapes. 
At the moment the castle is restructured according to gothic and Siena’s schemes, in tipical Romanic style; its farm  cultivate about 1.200 hectars. Meleto castle was built at the end of the XIV century, but inside is in Barocco style. Inside the wine cellars wine tasting, if you demand it it will possible a complete meal with local dishes and appropriate wines liqueurs. 
And then Badia  a Coltibuono, a beautuful abbey sorrounded by a suggestive wood.
It has been built around an ancient oratory founded by Vallombrosani monks in the IX century as a place of meditation and prayer. It offers at the moment the possibility to visit the court, the cloister  and the wine cellars in wich the Chianti age. In the restaurant it is possible to have a taste or a complete lunch with wines appropriated to the menu you chose
